It's hard to believe that an entire month has passed already...and even harder to imagine life without baby Charlie. Here's an update on current life:
Growth: Charlie is currently 9 lbs, 9 oz, up from 7lb 6 oz at birth.
Eating: Charlie eats pretty consistently every two and a half to three and a half hours, sometimes going as long as four hours and sometimes (usually in the evening) wanting to eat every hour and a half or so. Charlie loves to eat, and takes a bottle like a champ. The last week or so, Charles has been giving him a bottle for his late evening feeding, so that I can get a few hours of solid sleep in.
Sleeping: He's great at taking naps during the day, but isn't so much a fan of sleeping on his own at night. He much prefers to lay tummy-to-tummy with Mom or Dad, or to sleep with us in the recliner. The recliner was definitely one of our best purchases so far. His longest sleep stretch was just over four hours one night. I'll be very thankful when he decides to sleep better on his own and for longer periods of time.
Diapers: Charlie is a power-peer (and pooper). Around a week old, he was peeing through multiple diapers a day. He even peed on Uncle Pisey about 5 minutes after meeting him. Even though he was still under 8 lbs, we moved him up to size 1 diapers, which have done a much better job containing the mess. He also poops every time he eats, and fairly frequently in between. It is very rare to change a diaper that's not poopy. We're currently averaging 12-16 diapers a day. We also started primarily cloth diapering, which is going well (as long as I stay on top of the laundry). And at the rate we're going, they're going to pay off even faster than I predicted.

Things Charlie loves:
- Chattering, grunting and other boy noises. If he's awake, he's making noise and has quite the happy chatter (and fussy chatter)
- Making faces: He's got quite the variety, including a seriously award-winning smile
- Ansel Adams: The Tetons and the Snake River - he stares and stares at this

- The Bjorn and walks with Mom, Dad & Cody
- Sleeping in the car
- His binky, which he likes to attack
- Sprawling out and making claw hands

Other:
- Charlie gets hiccups about 10 times a day, which is about as frequently as he had hiccups before he was born. I definitely like them better now, and they don't seem to phase him in the slightest.
- He grew out of his first few newborn outfits this week.
- Strong man: He's getting quite good at holding up his head, and is getting a little more control of it every day.
