22 months

Charlie turned 22 months last week and continues to amaze us with his development. He is still our little intense guy, and has quite the ability to focus on whatever project is in his mind at the moment.

Snuggles with Mommy

Current favorites:
Trucks - Anything with wheels is a truck. His favorite trucks are Daddy's truck, Daddy's bike and any really big semi-type truck.
Stuffed animals: Mr. Bun, Frank and the ever-present Bink Guy (or "Bye-gee" as Charlie pronounces it).
His new bedroom
Cody (our dog)
'vi (aka Levi)
Books - any and all kinds
Balls
Tools

Developmental Skills:
We've noticed that Charlie keeps changing the way he pronounces quite a few words - and they still aren't totally right. For example, Cody recently went from "co-ee" to "cho-be." He's just starting to do short two-word sentences, although he has no trouble at all making himself understood.

He is quite fascinated with the potty and has successfully used it once. Currently, he wants to sit on the potty whenever I go to the bathroom, and also wants his diaper changed whenever Levi has his diaper changed. We're rolling with it. As much as I'm excited to to not have two in diapers, the thought of potty training, the inevitable accidents and the extra steps of making sure he goes to the bathroom regularly (particularly when out and about), are all a little overwhelming to me. Although, at the rate we are going, he will decide when we're going to fully go for it, not me.

Really, Mom?

Charlie is definitely a toddler, and spends time testing his limits. My favorite recent story is finding him out of bed when he shouldn't be. I had gone in a few times already to tell him it was time to sleep, and that he would get in trouble if I found him out of bed again. Sure enough, about 30 seconds later he was off to get some other toy (times a video monitor is quite handy). I went in, he didn't see me right away, but as soon as he did, he ran and climbed back into bed trying to pretend he'd never been out. Sorry, buddy, you got caught.

Charlie's current "chores:"
Throwing away diapers
Helping feed Cody - I'm pretty sure he could do it entirely on his own, but Mommy and Daddy regulate how much food Cody gets. We're assuming that finding Charlie, Cody, and an empty dog food bin is only days or weeks away.

Don't worry guys, I've got this one covered

Brothers:
Charlie loves being a big brother and thinks Levi is pretty great. He does a great job sharing with him and helping - whether it's an appropriate time to share and help or not. That is keeping me on my toes.

We both need tummy time, don't we?
